| DESIGN NAME: Arch PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lounge chair INSPIRATION: I was inspired to create the Arch chair by the shape of reinforced concrete rings. This is the case when the shape I saw immediately prompted the idea of creating a chair in the form of two arcs. This is where the name Arch was born. I wanted to emphasize the lightness and simplicity of the form, while at the same time giving a feeling of stability and grounding, to sink into this chair relax as much as possible with comfort. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The uniqueness of this chair is the simplicity of its form, the feeling that one arc is intertwined with another arc, creating the effect of lightness and weightlessness. At the same time, the chair is ergonomic, functional, and follows the shape of the body, which makes it as comfortable as possible. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The chair is awkward, more suitable for offices, relaxation areas, meditation, reflection. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was created in August 2023. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: After the idea of creating this chair came, I decided to prototype it. I made an agreement with the production workers and we assembled the frame of this chair using plywood. When testing the model, the shape of the chair turned out to be very convenient and comfortable. This chair can be assembled either from plywood or using a metal frame, which will make this chair lighter in weight. The entire model is covered with foam and fabric. It is very important to me not to harm the environment. Therefore, you can use plywood or a metal base to create the item. It is very important for me to create environmentally friendly items that do not harm human health and the environment. CHALLENGE: Despite the fact that the shape of the chair is quite simple, consisting of two arches that fit into each other, we encountered obstacles in our work when covering it with fabric.
