PRIMARY FUNCTION: Research Analysis Platform
INSPIRATION: Researchers often face the pain point of having to spend a long time re-watching interviews and manually tagging transcripts to refresh their memory, find insights, and locate supporting quotes. This is necessary for presenting valuable insights persuasively, backed by evidence. Our platform saves researchers from this tedious process by automatically analyzing the interviews and transcripts to surface key insights and relevant quotes.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Insightflow revolutionizes the way users analyze qualitative interview data by transforming their research questions and interview clips into categorized themes with relevant quotes and evidence. It also allows users to add notes and highlight key quotes, streamlining the process from data collection to presentation. With customized presentations of findings tailored to research questions, we free users from time-consuming manual tagging, optimizing their research flow.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Researchers conduct user interviews and upload the interview scripts, audio, or video files to our platform. They then enter the research questions or goals they aim to answer through the research. With one click, our platform generates a report that lists all the research questions and provides answers and key themes derived from insightful quotes and evidence gathered from multiple video and interview participants. Provides a base of insights to help users think deeper and check for missing insights.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our research aims to save researchers time, promote deeper thinking, and enable effective collaboration. To better understand our users' needs, we analyzed 8 competitors, conducted over 50 user interviews, and executed 10+ user testing sessions. Our platform can revolutionize research and learning across disciplines. It's an invaluable tool for user researchers, students, product designers, small businesses - anyone conducting research or seeking insights.
CHALLENGE: Initially, our platform auto-tagged interviews based on research questions. However, we realized that providing direct insights with supporting quotes and keyword tags is most valuable. One challenge was the long processing time for video uploads, so we added a progress banner to show when findings are ready. Although we had concerns about AI accuracy, user interviews revealed that researchers value our clear presentation of findings with quote evidence. The concise AI insights report acts as a foundation to help them think broader and deeper while saving time. Users also mentioned our platform serves as a reminder of key interview themes, ensuring nothing is missed, similar to an affinity diagram. We simplified the steps after testing many approaches.
