DESIGN NAME: Mobile Guardian
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Vehicle Warning Triangle Robot
INSPIRATION: At present, about 1.3 million people die in road traffic accidents every year around the world, and according to some regional statistics, secondary accidents account for a large part of them. During my daily driving, I found that people don't pay much attention to the placement of warning triangles, so I started to explore the logic of people's behaviours in this regard, and found their pain points and designed a solution.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Through infrared recognition, programming remote control and other technical means, it realises the intelligentisation of the triangle warning sign and solves the current pain point that the triangle warning sign needs to be manually taken back and forth.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Open the folding boot placed on the ground, the APP interface for selecting mode automatically pops up in the mobile phone interface, and the product automatically goes to the target location after selecting the mode. Equipped with three modes: high-speed road (patrol mode), unmarked road (remote control mode), complex urban road (specific procedures).
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2023 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, was completed in September 2023 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, and presented in October 2023 at the Global 1024 Developer Festival.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The infrared sensor scans the road marking to achieve line driving; the visual obstacle avoidance module achieves obstacle avoidance and stops automatically when encountering people and objects; it is equipped with a loudspeaker announcing; and the Wifi module achieves remote control.

Comply with the national norms for the production of warning triangle, the size of the warning triangle is the same as the size of the car from the factory.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In reality, drivers fail to take effective safety measures when stopping for maintenance on the road, fail to place the warning triangle in place, or choose to place it close to the warning triangle because they want to reduce or avoid the risk of swaying back and forth during the process of placing the warning triangle, thus bringing visual bias to the vehicle behind them and increasing the risk of secondary accidents.
CHALLENGE: Through simulation and testing of various scenarios, we conceptualise the way in which the device performs its functions and the details of its use in the environment. Examining the details of product use through hands-on experience, and designing interactions that incorporate psychological stresses and conditions.
