UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
"Sumati woman asking for Buddha" comes from a Buddhist classic story, which tells the story of the Sumati woman, who was raised as a strong believer in Buddhism and grew up to marry the son of the elder Mancai. On their wedding day, the Sumati woman was unwilling to perform rituals to people who didn't believe in Buddhism, and then became bedridden. When learning that the Sumati woman was a disciple of Buddha, Mancai wanted to see the Buddha's divine power, so he asked Sumati to invite the Buddha to the banquet. The next day, Sakyamuni's disciples showed their powers and flew from the sky in turn. In the end, Sakyamuni Buddha descended from the sky on an auspicious cloud and succeeded in converting all the people to Buddhism. This project meticulously preserves the original forms and colors of the mural characters, animals, plants, and architectural landscapes. In terms of innovation, it integrates character movements with light and shadow effects, along with dynamic camera work and rich sound effects. This approach presents a new aspect of digital transmission of Buddhist cultural stories and intangible heritage.

CHALLENGE:
One of the challenges is to draw on and absorb the essence of Dunhuang mural lines well in art design, and to refine and re-create according to the needs of animation production; Another challenge is how to use visual effects to enhance the momentum of the appearance of different Bodhisattvas. After a lot of tests, the author has solved the above problems, and the final effect is very satisfactory.
