RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Zemfira Karabagh kilim is produced using the traditional Karabagh kilim weaving technique. This weaving technique is known as flat weaving; vertical threads are referred to as warp, while horizontal threads are known as weft. Despite its sturdy construction, the Karabagh kilim is notable for its lightweight nature, making it a practical choice. This kilim requires delicate craftsmanship, thus it is meticulously crafted by the most skilled artisans during the weaving process.
CHALLENGE: When weaving the Karabakh kilim, skilled weaving masters of the time were initially engaged. Using first-quality wool and natural dyes ensured the product's superior quality. Due to its substantial size and distinguished nature, its weaving was completed over a period of 4 years.
