| DESIGN NAME: Plycade PRIMARY FUNCTION: Arcade Game Machine INSPIRATION: The idea is to reshape a device that has never been very attractive from an aesthetic point of view. Plycade wants to keep the same playing characteristics of the classic arcade cabinets but a new minimalist design that looks stylish and perfect for a modern home , study room, game room, and other environments. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Plycade (acronym of plywood-arcade) is a project born to give new life and a new design to the classic arcade cabinet. The structure is divided into 4 pieces made of bent plywood. At the hardware level it uses a 24-inch display and pc with i7 processor to have the necessary power to play both old and new games. It can be played simultaneously with 2 players and each player has a joystick and 8 buttons. The games available are both the classics of the 70s/80s and the more recent ones available on the Steam platform for example. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The operation is the same as the classic arcade cabinets, it is possible to play simultaneously with two players. Each player has one joystick and eight buttons to interact with the games. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The initial project started in August 2022 and after the considerable interest it aroused I decided to redesign it in a way that is functional to be able to produce it. in February 2023 the design phase was completed and the first working prototype will begin to be built in a short time. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Plycade's structure is made of bent plywood. other materials used are aluminum worked with cnc machines, used in the supports and covers of the machine. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Plycade measure 60 x 54 x 170cm and a weight of 50kg.
