DESIGN NAME: NTNU Gamers
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Nft
INSPIRATION: Blockchain is an emerging industry, and the NTNU design team took advantage of it to create NFT for NTNU designers. This design pays homage to the history of pixel style development in the classic Mega man style, combining retro graphics with the latest technology, which is a new challenge for the design team.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: NTNU gamers is a leading university in Taiwan. For the first time in Taiwan, a university has designed a complete nft creation plan for its students.the design team also took into account the real-world location of ntnu and integrated all the ntnu campuses to create a virtual city located in the block chain.each nft has additional features, including a character-specific puzzle and a reception for the NTNU exhibition.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: NFTs can be purchased on the platform to receive the added functionality of the work.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in taiwan in february 2022, was released on the web in may 2022, and was updated in june 2022 until now.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This time, we use the concept of metaverse to design a set of nft and combine the concept of blockchain to execute the design practice.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The finished design is cast into nft and added to the block chain system.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With the gradual maturity of blockchain technology, metaverse-related issues are also being paid attention to and discussed. non-fungible token (NFT) has been widely used in the art and digital industries in recent years, in which the circulation of digital contents (images, pictures, and texts) is traded, providing a new "cultural economy" for the existing cultural and creative industries.
In this study, we investigate the empowering characteristics of commercially available nfts, compile the conditions that nft publishers must possess, and organize the process of casting and distributing nfts on the shelves, and then use pixel style as the style of creative expression to create empowering nfts according to the process.
It is hoped that the research process will provide a clear introduction process for the relevant practitioners, so that designers can more efficiently cast and distribute blockchain art, provide a "cross-border" development direction for the cultural and creative industry and establish an innovative value chain for the cultural industry, and spread the cultural heritage to the world through blockchain technology to form a positive cycle.
CHALLENGE: The ntnu team analyzed the hot contemporary issues, based on challenges and innovations.we decided to create a set of nft to represent ntnu's student designers.each nft is designed with the designer's own characteristics in mind,and there is a lot of analysis and production work in the preliminary design.
