| DESIGN NAME: House Y PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Apartment INSPIRATION: Inspired by the client’s love in modern arts, House Y is designed in the accent of gallery. Delicate interior design and exquisite furniture detailing express this language thoroughly. With the sophisticated lighting design, the vibe of the space is enhanced to another level. From the atmosphere, color accent, special materials, unique textures, to furniture detail design are expressing the arts. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Delicate interior & exquisite furniture of House Y express the passion in art. Straw marquetry door shines lively. Timber cabinet wall with extruded vertical reveals in Living & Dining imitate leather craftsmanship. Raw timber floor & white marble end walls further the language. In bedrooms, tiger maple cabinet with polygon shaped veneer like a contemporary art. The natural grains of white marble drawer interpret abstract painting. Bathroom’s spa setting enhances the experience with indulgence. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In this project, design director & design manager created the entire design as well as the delicate furniture design. Then the detail design of manufacturing was developed by the furniture factory. The production shop drawings were handled by the factory & reviewed by the design & construction team. Therefore the on-site installation was coordinated thoughtfully since design stage till site completion. The whole progress was closely supervised by the project manager. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2022 and finished in September 2022 in Hong Kong. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Starting from understanding the clients' preference and vision in their daily living, family activities routine, and life style perception & enjoyment, a concept is outlined. Base on the artistic direction, unique materials with special textures are sourced, which are used as the "language" to tell the story. Then the transformation to the interior and furniture design is interpreted in a sophisticated and exquisite ways. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: Luxurious, sophisticated, elegance, indulgence, delicate, art, exquisite, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: Sourcing and handling of the materials with special textures and characters are the challenge in the project. Also, some parts of the property are still in good condition. The keeping of existing and coordination of building the new portions took extra planning, management, and care during the whole progress.
