| DESIGN NAME: Well Made Home PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: To meet the needs of young people or those with a small budget who plan to buy a residence, small apartments in the suburbs have become the housing mainstream of a city. A Well-Made Home is a small model home targeted at young buyers, with actual footage of less than 70 square meters. Even with a limited budget, its precise floor plan contributes to a visual effect of spaciousness while also takes into consideration its full functionality. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A tour in the apartment gives the potential buyer a first-hand experience of actually moving around in the space so as to carve out a vision of living here in the future, which is the challenge and yet the appeal of this design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Specifically-selecte PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in May 2021 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The indoor space features earth tones, with the main common area characterized by white-and-blue walls and ceiling, which makes for a bright, light and laid-back vibe for the open-concept living-dining room. Light-toned wooden veneer and such furniture as dining table and chairs, as well as the grayish black marble TV wall, transform the common area into an enriched living environment with diverse materials. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 61.59m2 TAGS: Ming-Hsun Ting, Zi-Ling Cheng, Ho Ching Interior Design Ltd., A Well-Made Home, Residential House RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Spaciousness, practicality of the space and maximization of its functionality are the three main goals of the design. While retaining the established layout of three bedrooms, a living room, a dining room and an enclosed kitchen, the designer constructs enriched layers by means of light remodeling and thereby creates an agreeable residential space, a good flow and visual transparency. CHALLENGE: A Well-Made Home is accomplished with the limitations of a small footage and a small budget. The designer, with ingenuity and thoughtfulness, constructs a small, high-quality residence with a refined boutique feel, which offers to its buyer lots of room for imagination and a vision for a beautiful future, and promotes sales for the entire new construction project.
