| DESIGN NAME: Oceanwave PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Furniture INSPIRATION: Life originated in water millions of years ago. The genetic memory of this is still stored in people. We bow before the power of the water element, we are fascinated by its beauty and harmony. Water attracts us. It calls us to feel its depth and to know its essence. People will never stop admiring the water. The theme of water in the design is bottomless, like the ocean. None of the people will be able to remain indifferent. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The idea of this series of furniture arose due to the artistic image of the ocean wave. The shapes of the furniture parts mimic a large ocean wave in motion. This is an emotional design that is designed to awaken our natural instincts and feelings. For those who love the water element, who are familiar with the feeling of flying through the waves, who remember the drops of water on their face and the sea wind... Now we have the opportunity to bring a piece of the sea into our home and have the pleasure of admiring this natural beauty and perfection every day. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A series of bedroom furniture was designed to connect man with nature . A full-fledged bed with the shapes of moving water is a visual sculpture that complements the usual household function of sleeping furniture. A separate headboard is an option simplified in manufacturing and more affordable, but in the same style. A table with a wave at the base complements and enhances the visual image of the furniture series. The visual sensation of a large wave can be complemented by internal illumination. For greater realism, it is possible to supplement the products with the sounds of the sea surf. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The best material for making the basis of furniture is artificial acrylic glass or similar plastic. The required color is obtained by coloring in bulk or superficially . The design assumes an internal cavity to reduce the weight of the products. Possible processing technologies are casting, stamping, possibly 3D printing and gluing. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: Ocean, Sea, Wave, Surf, Furniture, Bed, Headboard, Table RESEARCH ABSTRACT: To achieve a more spectacular image of the products, the designer conducted a small visual study of the shapes and types of sea and ocean waves in order to find the most spectacular and recognizable shapes. Preliminary sketches of the products were made. Experiments were conducted to recreate the wave in a real pool, for a better understanding of the physical parameters of water movement. This knowledge allowed us to find the most suitable forms for the material. CHALLENGE: The greatest difficulty was the elaboration of product shapes in 3D graphics. I often had to make corrections to the model to get the desired shape. At the initial design stage, the possibility of real production of products was considered.
