| DESIGN NAME: Flip PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: For those who enjoy new approaches to furniture design and value the environment, I would like to create something unique such as a chair made in one piece that can be used anywhere. Like my Flip, a chair has one form, one function, and no mechanism, yet it has become one of a kind with two characteristics from a modern aesthetic to a natural appearance. It looks savvy and technologically advanced on the bottom of the seat, which is constructed of different materials and is visible when the chair was flipped 180 degrees. But it seems that turning something upside down while having a wood surface, brings back memories of nature. This flip chair comes in lofty and simplicity style with the ideal function to match any timing, angle and form to add new look from your surroundings in between when just flip it. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Flip is an emotional adjustment chair that can be rotated around 180 degrees to alter the user's features and feeling while enhancing the look of any environment. The chair will be easy for the customer to set as his or her needs from executed in different materials, a technological appearance with metal or a natural appearance with wood, as well as its attractive comfort function. Flip was designed to be different from other chairs, which all have a single character, and the playful Flip can adapt its design to the emotions of whoever sitting in it. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The key to the project’s success is the good form and good degree of an angle, andthe consistency between the dimensions and function also lets the concept come to life. And it's more than a single product. and respond to the functions of use and emotions of the user. Flip's goal is to create designs that offer more value than they are. By questioning whether furniture can enhance well-being by engaging with the user's emotions and feelings while taking into account the context of the furniture. The interest in ambigram font design is the main idea of the design. Reading letters, whether from front to back or back to front or reverse, gave rise to the idea of designing a chair that could switch sides in use without changing the shape. Therefore, the design starts from the study of dimensions suitable for use. When the chair is switched, the dimensions for use, such as sitting and arm rests, remain the same size and proportions. The first step is to test the Flip design concept by creating an elevation view and then determining the size and proportions that are suitable for use. By referring to the typical size of a lounge chair, then creating an ambigram inverted view to verify that the chair maintains the same size, perspective, and function. For appropriateness and design concept Modernist furniture is used as a reference in the design. Flip uses Galvanized Pipe as the chair structure. The seats use two very different materials, such as contrasting colours or contrasting materials. For the designs presented this time, the design is made of wood on one side to give a feeling of naturalness, while the other side is perforated metal, representing the era of technology. Flip can create engagement with users. It supports both emotions When users are emotionally affected by daily life or adjust their mood and tone from the routine that occurs, Just flip the flip side only. CHALLENGE: It was a huge challenge for the design of the chair when the goal was to design the chair to be able to function normally in dimensions, proportions, and angles of use, whether alternating top or bottom, to maintain its size. Proportions and degrees remain the same. Because of what happened after the summary of the model, the chair was swiveled to 180 degrees. The relationship between the seat size and the armrests still needs to be improved for proper use. Therefore, the improvement of the design starts by determining the size of the seat height, armrests, and angle of the backrest, and then adjusting the structure of the structure afterwards.
