DESIGN NAME: Round Dance
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential
INSPIRATION: The light scatters into the space, and the shadows change as the light moves around, like a light and joyful round dance. The light and elegant design flow in the space, making the client feel the comfort of tranquility. The designer removes the wall between the kitchen and the dining room to merge the space into a bright and spacious room with good lighting.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project is a reorganization of an old house. The designer openly presents the kitchen and combines it with the dining room and living room to form an open public area. Mineral paints are used instead of concrete to create a concrete-like wall texture. In addition, the designer also presents the cabinets in an open style, with lines, geometric elements, furniture, and decorations to create an interesting look in the space with simplicity.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: There are many partitions in the original space, which blocked the light and made the space gloomy. The design idea is to introduce the light from the front and back balconies into the space to improve the brightness. The designer removes the wall between the kitchen and the dining room to merge the space into one, and the space with good lighting is bright and spacious.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in June 2021 in Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: the living room, dining room, and kitchen are connected, and the light from the windows on both sides can integrate so that the light enters the space and makes the public area bright and roomy. The space is designed with a corridor leading to each area. The design of the kitchen counter extends to the dining table, and the traffic flow of this area is like a loop. In addition, the designer uses storage, display, concealment, and shape to combine practical function and aesthetics.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The corridor becomes the axis of the spacious space and expands to each area. Instead of using complicated design, the designer used lines, geometry, and simple colors to create the atmosphere for the space. Furthermore, the designer considers the cabinet and furniture, and integrates some wall shapes and practical designs, trying to make the space appear naturally and timeless.

The design uses simple materials and low saturation colors to create a harmonious space, which makes the client can feel comfortable and stable.
