DESIGN NAME: Lemonde Pro
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Branding Identity
INSPIRATION: The brand was inspired by the concept of NFT which is the idea of valuing intellectual properties. Apart from a deal between servant and client, designers should involve the company buildup. The intangible investment suggested shares the same concept of using the virtual currency in NFT, which aims to avoid a rotten market of price war.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The brand was named "LeMonde" which means "the world" in French with a message of connecting the world. The ethos is to build an environment where “designer do design” and creative perspective should be the first priority. The business model aims for a blue ocean, instead of taking part in the price war. The business model designed suggests a way without money transaction between clients and designers. This brand is rooted on conceptions of NFT, intangible investment and crowdfunding, in purpose to reach a blue ocean and create a new form of industry.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The operation will be Investment startup businesses by design services as intangible asset, with a payback in shares. Campaign of crowdfunding supports the capital needed on design process, and the products or services from startup are provided in return to the Crowd funders.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Sep 2019 in Hong Kong, and still developing in Japan.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The brand style was separated in printed and digital media, which are cinematic and Bauhaus style. All of the designs in printed media follow a golden ratio with a color usage of primary colors. The brand guideline: Noted all the used of the designs and print in 210X297mm, 20 pages with cover. Logo: Showing the design perspectives with a message of connection. The main logo style should be with a ratio of 0.236/1/0.236/0.236, including the typography. Namecard: The credit card like design represents reliable and loyal partnership. All the video-based productions should start with a intro mp4/1080p/10 sec, and end with an outro mp4/1080p/8 sec motion graphic animation.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The business cycle benefits three parties involved. Startup businesses fulfill the needs on design in a lack of capital. LeMondePro focuses on creative production and develop a well-designed business circumstance. Crowdfunding can be a solution of promotion and all the funders are the potential clients for the startup businesses.
CHALLENGE: The most challenging part in this proposal was to come up the idea of the business model and explain it to the others. The problem of the lack of objective valuation causes the information asymmetry. People cannot see the value or even do not realize there is value on design. NFT was a hope of the solution but it still needs time to be developed. A healthy design circumstance also needs time to be built up.
