| DESIGN NAME: Flowing Light PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: Camping under the starry sky is the theme of the interior design. The color field vivifies the ear-splitting silence and gloomy night. Through the staggering of different light fixtures, a starry night comes to life. Natural marble and wood fill the space with coziness and relaxation, making home feel more like a vacation. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The shimmering light band moves along the volume and traffic movement to omit a leisurely vibe in the space. The rhythm of home is composed at a gentle and unhurried pace. Soft curvature on the canopy erases the rigidity of right angles. The meandering lines link the harmonious interaction between the fields. The calmness and stability of wood and stone set the tone of space and give the residence a touch of steadiness. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Upon opening the door, the light gray marble and warm wooden grille create a warm scene to welcome everyone home. The neat linear arrangement of the grille and the irregular natural texture of the stone present a visual conflict. The light from the canopy cleverly blurs the differences between materials and recreates a harmonious and balanced view. The floor to ceiling screen adds a high degree of privacy to the room, and a shallow shelf in the middle section offers more functions. When entering the public sphere, the wooden grille is connected to the marble in galaxy gray color to offer magnificence to the main wall. In order to weaken the difference between wood and stone, the gray hanging cabinet is expanded on the wooden grille, while display cabinet with gray and white stone pattern on the middle spreads out in the space simultaneously. The peat gray TV cabinet on the lower section forms a horizontal axis. After the integration of materials, the interrelationship between the forms is established naturally. A half-height dark gray grille divides the open study room, providing a clear and unobstructed view while establishing the scope of the space. The vertical light strips embedded in the slate tiles with mineral veins embody the fleeting beauty of shooting stars across the sky. Without dividing the view into too many trivial pieces, a delicate hidden door is installed in the corridor. The warm wood is laid out in one go to open up the space. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Galaxy marble, Italian floor tiles, Japanese steel brushed veneer, Spanish wood grain tiles, customized system cabinets, Clay stone, customized iron parts, modeling glass, solid wood shutters, baking paint, Deli latex paint SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: In the space of 62 square meters, there are an entrance, one living room, one dining room, one kitchen, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. TAGS: Interior Design, Residential, Low-chroma, Starry sky, Soft curvature, Marble RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Colors of low-chroma and the mellow texture continue to spread to the master bedroom. A white light strip is embedded in the half-height light wooden wall behind the bed, releasing a relaxing and soothing atmosphere on the rustic plaster texture. The canopy beams are curved and trimmed with light strips to reduce the presence of the volume. The second bedroom is decorated with earthy colors and wallpaper of a Scandinavian style forest create a fresh and bright daily scene. CHALLENGE: In the tranquil space, the light fixtures on the canopy brighten the space gradually, injecting a sense of lightness and airiness. In the corridor, the low structural beams spanning on the canopy are clad in wood to reduce the sense of interruption, and then closely affixed to flowing curved forms to eliminate the oppressiveness of the beams under the light.
