| DESIGN NAME: Yuna Villa PRIMARY FUNCTION: Housing INSPIRATION: The design is for the house of a successful businesswoman CEO. Therefore, the design needs to accommodate the hostess's daily needs for meeting and entertaining with friends in addition to the residential function. Also, there needs to be sufficient living space as employees sometimes stay overnight. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a design project for a villa and the designers are committed to creating a living environment that is humanistic, modern, artistic and harmonious. All design elements are in the minimalist style, which shows a return to nature and authenticity. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design places a huge emphasis on the proportion of colors and shapes and uses abstract and concrete lines to render the space feel balanced in style. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design began in April 2020 and the construction work was completed on December 30, 2021. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Architecture, Building and Structure Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Main materials: marble, metal, stainless steel, art paint. The design features delicate details and simple lines, adopting different expression ways, from curves to straight lines, to deliver the same effects. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This is a three-storey villa with a sunken courtyard, with a total area of 300 square metres. TAGS: Minimalist, art, club, villa, modern style, structure, lighting RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The colour palette of the whole space is mainly black, white and grey, coupled with scattered warmer and brighter colors. The use of lighting is also a feature of this design. The combination of different materials and lines adds layering senses to the space. CHALLENGE: Great challenge was brought by a downpour hitting in Zhengzhou during the construction. Thus we changed the original house structure and added a negative floor in which laminated glasses, 4m wide and 2.7m high, were used to ensure enough lighting. NAME: Liu Xiaowei PROFILE: Liu Xiaowei, graduating from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts and later studying at the Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, has 15 years of experience in design. He has travelled to 32 countries to study art where he explored the essence of architecture. He is mainly engaged in the design of villas and houses, and advocates the design with emotion. |
