DESIGN NAME: The Abaya Tower
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mixed Use
INSPIRATION: This design presents a building in the shape of a woman sitting on a rock wearing traditional abaya clothes dominating in ambient with her calm arms laid out on her knees and her head that is looking into the future as a keeper of the Persian Gulf. These attributes of the figure are very similar to the principle proposed by Oscar Niemeyer's feminine shape by using natural and harmonious curves. This approach is also similar to the work of Brancusi as well as Seated Woman a series of large sculptures of women made by Moore.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will be located at some location in GCC as a building with multiple uses as a vertical city where people could live, work and relax. It will comprise world class offices, award winning restaurants, the 7 star Hotel, exclusive residences and etc. All functions are planned to forge the project into a landmark building. Inspired by the abaya clothes, the project has a unique, continuous, and lite shape rising from the ground to the sky to express the proud women of the Middle East.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The concept is to pursue beauty and define individuals by their own character, while putting the heritage cultural power of the location into consideration, and enriching the work with extraordinary traditional space value.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project will be started in 2025 in Dubai and finished in 2030

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design concept has been made as environmental and energy friendly buildings with major energy efficiency characteristics such as cooling of the building with natural airflow from green corridors to the atrium, solar shading with computer-controlled external blinds, reduction of wind gusts by designing the terraced floors of the hotel and narrowing the building from 27 floors to the top of the building, automatic waste collection recycling the wastewater with an option for the head design as a wind lens turbine.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Abaya Tower has been designed by combining the historical and comparative research methods across 5000 year time periods about the traditional clothes with facts that have been recorded as Abaya also refers to different garments in different Middle East countries.
CHALLENGE: The new international approach considers the sculptural design that makes the building unique and functional at the same time and this design thanks to its unique structure could fulfill both.
