| DESIGN NAME: Vsen PRIMARY FUNCTION: Armchair INSPIRATION: The design of the Vsen armchair is inspired by angled lines and the waterway. The design, which has a simple appearance, can be used in homes and offices. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Vsen armchair, the laminated wooden carriers used on the sides in accordance with the form of the sides both look visually beautiful and sit on the floor in a balanced way. The side parts of this chair, the seat and backrest parts can be easily assembled with fasteners at the production site. Single and double armchairs and complementary coffee tables can provide alternative arrangements in homes and offices. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Vsen armchair, which has an aesthetic appearance as well as comfortable use, can be used in homes and offices. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The laminated wooden frame used on the edge in accordance with the form of the side parts of the Vsen armchair can be easily produced by the lamination method using a mold suitable for mass production. First, the wooden carrier frame is prepared for the seat and backrest parts of the seat and zig zag springs are mounted on it. Then the sponge is laid on the lining fabric, the fiber and face fabric are dressed and the process is completed. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The single Vsen's dimensions are 65 cm (w) x 80 cm (d) x 70 cm (h), while the double Vsen's dimensions are 125cm (w) x 80 cm (d) x 70 cm (h). The dimensions of the coffee table are 100 cm (w) x 65 cm (d) x 42 cm (h). TAGS: Armchair, Chair, Table, Lamination, Seat foot pouf. RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Vsen Armchair is designed with inspiration from the waterway and angled lines, and can be covered with fabrics in alternative colors and patterns, suitable for use by one or two people. This chair can be mounted practically and used in homes and offices. CHALLENGE: Contrary to commonly used armchair designs, Vsen sits firmly on the ground thanks to its angled form that expands towards the ground. NAME: Vsen Armchair PROFILE: Kemal Yıldırım, the designer of the Vsen armchair, is presently employed as a Professor at the Gazi University in Ankara, Turkey. Prof. Yıldırım has written over 150 academic articles in the field of Furniture and Interior Design. In 2015, he won the Exporters' Unions Grand Prize with his design AngledBOX at the Eighth National Furniture Design Competition organized by Turkish Exporters' Associations. In 2015, he received the Second Prize with his design named Life Bed in the Furnitures Design Competition that Saves Life in the Earthquake, organized as part of the 5th International Kocaeli Earthquake Symposium. He received A Design Awards with his designs named AngledSHELF, V-Bookcase, MyBATH, HexBOX, FileBOX, SLant and ZigZag at A' Design Award & Competition held in Italy between 2016-2019. He received Bronze and Silver Design Awards with his designs named PivotBOX and RotaryBOX at the European Product Design Awards held in Budapest in 2018-2019. Finally, he received Rose Gold and Silver Design Awards with his designs named PivotBOX, HittiteSun and ErgoFile at the Muse Design Awards held in the USA in 2019-2021. |
