| DESIGN NAME: U Easy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Contact Lenses Assist Wearers INSPIRATION: As a contact lens user, I feel there is some trouble in the process of wearing contact lenses. Through research on the correct way to wear contact lenses, it is found that the most suitable way is to align the pupil with the center of the lens, but beginners may not be skilled enough to cause their eyes to look away, which increases the difficulty of wearing them. So I designed a mirror logo to help the user look to a central location, so as to ensure the success of wearing. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In the process of wearing contact lenses, due to the user's familiarity with the operation and different physiological characteristics, there may be a variety of difficult to wear problems, which may include falling, blinking during the process, incorrect fitting position and eye hygiene problems. The design aligns the eye, contact lens, mirror and the indicator on the mirror, which guides the user to wear the lens quickly and accurately. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The slightly downward Angle of the support frame not only relazes the hand muscles, but also encourages the user to look up slightly, thus opening the eyes at a wider Angle and increasing the success rate of wearing. The center mark on the mirror guides the user's eye to the center of the mirror. When the pupil coincides with the center mark, it is easy to fit the contact lens. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Beijing in December 2021 and completed the model making in February 2022, and is currently undergoing material testing. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The contact lens holder is made of soft, degradable silica gel, which is slip resistant and environmentally friendly. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The design is simple and compact, the production cost and difficulty are very small, through simple injection molding process and assembly can be completed and used. TAGS: Contact lens assist, Biodegradable, Life hack, Smart Angle, Portable product RESEARCH ABSTRACT: By studying the experience of people wearing contact lenses in their daily lives, we found that the best way to wear contact lenses is to align the pupil with the center. Then, we studied the human body structure, and finally determined the design plan of downward Angle, in order to make people's eyes open a larger Angle, so as to better wear contact lenses. From a social point of view, the design makes people's life more convenient, and the low-cost and biodegradable materials are more friendly to our living environment. CHALLENGE: Since we need to study the habits of a large number of users, we spent a lot of time in the preliminary research and questioning of users.
