PRIMARY FUNCTION: Water Rescue
INSPIRATION: Water sports can enhance cardiopulmonary function and reduce sports injuries. This product is designed because drowning events are prone to occur.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a water rescue product design. The front and rear dual airbag design can allow the drowning person to float to the surface in a short time, keeping the body balance and breathing smoothly. This product also has a vital sign detection function. Once an abnormality is identified, the airbag will be automatically opened, so that the water rescue positioning can be changed from first aid to prevention. Reduces drowning injuries due to illness, cramps, etc.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: If a swimmer feels uncomfortable while playing in the water, the airbag can be triggered by pressing a switch; in addition, if the vital signs are abnormal, the balloon will automatically expand to bring the person to the surface. When the airbag pops up, the buzzer and light alarm device will also be activated to realize the stereo audio-visual distress signal, so that the positioning of water rescue extends from first aid to prevention.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2021 in Beijing and finished in January 2022 in Xi'an.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The outer shell of the product is composed of thermoplastic vulcanized silica gel (skin-friendly rubber) and polypropylene plastic shell to fix and protect the core module. The fixed band woven by PES polyester fiber is soft and elastic to fasten the product to the user and avoid being washed away by the current.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Drowning incidents are prone to occur, so a water rescue product is designed. CHALLENGE: The innovation of this project is to transform water rescue from passive "rescue" to flexible "prevention". Usually "Noah" does not cause inconvenience. Help in times of danger. Finding the exact product positioning in the design is a difficult point. The project team tried to design a diving rescue device, but the scope of application was limited. After analyzing a large number of related equipment and distress situations, the project team focused on the flexibility of water rescue.
