DESIGN NAME: Kumiko Wooden Brightness Adjusting
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Light
INSPIRATION: Kumiko is a Japanese technique which requires no nails to assemble wooden pieces. The design applies the “magane asanoha” (真金麻の葉) pattern which symbolizes luck. It looks charming to have Kumiko patterns in lights, and these lights are suitable for night lights or mood lights. However, it’s a little bit dim for searchlights. In hope of striking a balance between bright lighting and eye-catching Kumiko patterns, we designed this product.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: By rotating the product can turn Kumiko ON or OFF, or change the light effect to adjust the atmosphere of the space. Kumiko can play the role of searchlights when in need as well. In this mode can just use it like carrying lanterns in Japanese festivals. Thus, can effortlessly change how the light shows in the space for different needs.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Grab the grip on the side to rotate the product or change the light mode.
