| DESIGN NAME: Pillarm PRIMARY FUNCTION: Smart Pill Box INSPIRATION: Due to increasing pressure and the speed of life, it has been tried to design a combination of a desk clock and a pillbox with a minimal form. This device prevents forgetting to take pills and tablets at their determined time. The Pillarm comes from smooth touches on a jelly surface. Every pit on the surface of it has a brilliant performance. It fills the users' emotions which leads to joy and satisfaction. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Pillarm is a dual functional desk clock. The first function is a smart pillbox that the users will never forget taking their pills and tablets with it. The second function is the desktop clock that the user can also set a waking up alarm. They can sync it with a smartphone, and they will be able to fill the box with their drugs and set the alarm to each. The pills will drop out from the box at the arranged time. A small lamp under the container helps the users see the drugs in the dark. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: A user-friendly application eases the use of the users. Also, they can set the alarm for each pill and tablet with this application. Users can set the alarm for the clock manually by clicking on the soft, smooth, and minimal buttons on the back. This clock can be placed on a bedside table and work desk, which reminds you of your tablets and displays the clock. The cap and the box have two layers that protect from wet and dust. When it is time to take the medicines, it automatically goes up with liting up the bottom surface and dropping out the pills. The lights around the clock indicate the remaining time until the next tablet. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Project was designed in Isfahan/Tehran in 2021. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The primary material used in this product is ABS. The inner part of the box and the cap have two layers made by an anti-bacterial finishing. In addition, there is an application that enables the users to interact with it smartly. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 75 mm X 75 mm X 60mm TAGS: Desk Clock, Smart Desk Clock, Smart, Pill Box, Medicine, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Having trouble with remembering to take medication is a common concern. Forgetting to take medicine can be related to how the drug has been prescribed. The more often the remedy is specified, the more likely the medication will be forgotten. Therefore, failing to take medications is due to the drug not being part of a routine. We decided to research what things they remember in their routine daily life, and we can involve it in our product. Connecting and smartly interacting with them will solve the problem. CHALLENGE: The main challenge in this Project was how the people never forget taking their remedies. The following challenges were joining performance and aesthetics besides the emotional connection between Pillarm and the users.
