| DESIGN NAME: Happiness bearing PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: Home is where family is. To give the owner a place to live and enjoy quality time with his beloved family, the designer knocked through three initial households to create an expansive and relaxing American-styled modern living environment. Meanwhile, each room is decorated in different styles according to each member preference to turn ideal into reality. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: To build up a heartwarming atmosphere while creating happy memories for the children, the mezzanine staircase of the kids room is set up with induction lamps. When the children step on them, the lights will be turned on immediately to create interactions and joyfulness. Meanwhile, the walls are painted in pink to echo the children laughter, allowing the family to be soaked in delight. Furthermore, no night tables are set up next to the bed in the bedrooms; instead, a staircase is installed to shape an expansive configuration. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: After several discussions, the designer gained trust from the owner and decided to lower the ceiling by cm, allowing the display cabinets to be in line with the ceiling. The method creates a balance visually while retaining storage functions. Meanwhile, the comprehensive design has also allowed the massive number of the client book collections to be adequately placed while maximizing space efficiency. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Since three generations will be living in the residence, the floor is specially paved with laminate flooring. The decision is based on the material high functionality and durability, allowing sharp items to rub, heavy items to fall, or dirt to be cleaned easily. Moreover, the incredible texture of the material is also suitable for children to make contact, allowing users of all ages to enjoy a relaxing space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The 60-ping residence is formed by knocking through three households and is equipped with seven bedrooms, four living rooms and four bathrooms. The designer has designed an expansive and high-functional residence cleverly by setting up two hallways; the two brothers are able to live with their father along with all family members of both sides. The overall design has the charm of gathering all residents to create joyful memories together. TAGS: American style, modern style, three households knocking-through, display cabinets, lightings RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project was designed from scratch. After going through long conversations with the owner, the designer has developed a comprehensive plan to satisfy all requirements. The overall emits the styles of American and modern, while gratings, ironware, display cabinets and wooden elements are decorated to inject a refreshing and heartwarming atmosphere. Since the project is initially equipped with geographical advantages and located on the 21st floor, the lightings have been outstanding since the beginning. CHALLENGE: To fulfill the client requirement of designing several styles for each area, the designer brought different elements to the residence after consideration and discussion. Each member personality is reflected on the interior, including the spatial configuration, the color selection, the items placements, the outlines and the arrangements for corners; the overall is a harmonious mix-and-match of the preferences of each resident.
