| DESIGN NAME: residential motorbike exhibition PRIMARY FUNCTION: Home display base for Motorcycle INSPIRATION: While designing the motorcycle installation the main inspiration were the motorcycle body style and the essence of the Harley Davidson brand: freedom and strength. The final design produce those feelings and enhance the motorcycle style and design UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design main objective was to generate a home exhibition base for a special edition motorcycle that was design to celebrate the brand’s 100 years anniversary. The design main objective was to ignite spectators’ imagination about the unique feeling of driving this motorcycle. The design finds the most unique feature on the strong, flowing, and dynamic shapes that constituted the motorcycle hardware stand system. A Custom-made solid wood platform with a sharp angle on side gives the composition elegance and sophistication. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This object was thought out to be a design element within a home, while maintaining the spirit of the motorbike brand. The result was achieved by generating special hardware to express the motorbike identity and and a wood platform to bring an outdoor feeling to the composition. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The based production undertook several technologies and design methods. The construction was produced on traditional mill, lathe, and woodworking technologies. The design utilized 3d digital modeling, hand sketching and cad drawing. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 2800mm x 1300mm x 150mm TAGS: motocycle,harley-dav RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This object was thought out to be a design element within a home, while maintaining the spirit of the motorbike brand. The result was achieved by generating special hardware to express the motorbike identity and and a wood platform to bring an outdoor feeling to the composition. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to design the hardware that support the bike. These hardware had to be discreet, emphasis the spirit of the motorbike and keep it stable.
