| DESIGN NAME: Hatching PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional infusion fixed plate INSPIRATION: Hatching refers to a soft baby swaddle to make kids be more relieved and less alert. It can rationalize the infusion process from kids' perspective so they are willing to put hands on it. To make kids realize the sense of life and remain calm, the 'egg' provides warmth and rhythm functionally. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Children are lively and active with an immature mind. During infusion, they often cannot remain a stable state continuously. Hatching is a fixed plate for children, which can eliminate boredom and physical discomfort by transforming the infusion into hatching animals and providing hand warming combine with the 'egg' up and down slightly. Egg-laying animal images will pop out randomly once the children remove the plate after the infusion to take their fancy and enrich their knowledge. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: After the kids put their hands on the 'egg', Hatching starts timing and heating to fix their hands and relieve the boredom and stiffness, accompanied by slight ups and downs which is simulating the situation of hatching an egg to adjust kids' respiratory rate and ease their emotions. Once the infusion is completed, the hand lifts from the 'egg' and an unpredictable egg-laying animal pops out to give kids feedback and enrich their knowledge. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Hatching project began in September 2021 and ended in January 2022 in Guangzhou. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main body of the product is made of fluorine rubber material, and the shape is made by means of mold processing. The air chamber and motor drive provide undulating motion under the palm of the child. The temperature is detected and adjusted using Graphene heating technology and temperature sensing technology. 'egg' is connected to the infusion board using magnetic charge technology. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: According to the hand size data of children aged 6-10, this products are 20 cm in total length, 16 cm in width and 0.6 cm in thickness. 'egg' are oval with a radius of 5 cm and 4 cm in thickness of 1 cm-1.5 cm TAGS: children, medical treatment, infusion, hatching, emotional influence, animal image RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This study relates to the field of transfusion auxiliary devices. It aims to provide a reasonable solution for children's boredom and hand instability during infusion. The process is mainly divided into the product concept, function, form and structure research, mainly using desktop research, form and structure drawing, model making and other methods. This research can care for children's medical experience, and has a certain educational significance for children. CHALLENGE: The hardest part of design is overcoming user boredom. Children's mental development is not mature, and the infusion process should be kept quiet, which is the main difficulty. The creative point of the design is the ingenious combination of the infusion action and the process of "hatching egg", which not only effectively alleviates the user's boredom, but also makes the infusion process stable and safe.
