One is that it is troublesome to unpack the plastic film packaging of the book, which creates a lot of garbage. The other is that readers need bookmarks to record their
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: New books are protected by transparent plastic film, but they are usually unusable and cause huge waste after being disassembled. Our packaging design can make the film reusable and become an interesting animal bookmark. It is not only green, but also reduces the cost of purchasing bookmarks. When in use, the book packaging film can be torn along the dotted line and divided into bookmarks in different animal shapes. These lovely animal bookmarks can bring users more interesting experience and convenient functions. Users can choose their favorite animal bookmarks. There are 12 kinds of animals, such as rhinoceros, horses, birds, etc. in addition, people can write notes on torn animal bookmarks, which is very convenient.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: After getting the new book, first tear off the plastic film package on the surface of the book, which will become the front and back two. Secondly, tear off the plastic film along the dotted line at the edge of the pattern and take out the bookmark. Finally, select your favorite bookmark and use it. You can write records with a pen on the bookmark.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This design belongs to the research of packaging design. At present, 15.95 trillion tons of book plastic film waste will be produced in the world every year, and this figure increases by 16% every year. The first reason for this phenomenon is that plastic film packaging needs to be used to ensure safety in the process of Book Transportation. Therefore, its existence is very common and important. Secondly, because the plastic film of each book is too small and the price is very cheap, it is difficult to sort and recycle.Therefore, the goal of this design and research is to find a way to solve the problem of resource waste and pollution caused by book plastic film. This design project mainly uses quantitative and qualitative research. On the one hand, collect the information data of book plastic film, on the other hand, collect people's views on plastic film and bookmarks through questionnaire survey. A total of 608 questionnaires were distributed and 594 were recovered, of which 588 were effective. Through data analysis, 99.5% of people's habit is to throw the plastic film directly into the trash can after removing the plastic film, The remaining 0.5% are collectors. 65.5% regard the plastic film as "useless garbage", and 34.5% think that the disassembled plastic film can make some interesting things at home, such as plastic balls played by cats; 78.5% of people have the habit of using bookmarks, and the rest do not. In addition, although there are many methods for recycling and reuse of plastic film, its difficulty lies in collection, especially for small volume products such as book plastic film, sorting is too difficult, resulting in a very low proportion of recycling and reuse. At present, there is no clear official data. It can be seen that the plastic film virtually causes a lot of waste of resources to the society, whether it is people's use habits or public treatment.
Therefore, the design team focused on the function expansion of plastic film rather than recycling. Through several design schemes, it finally determined to combine the functions of plastic film and bookmark, so that people can get better experience and functions when reading. In addition, it also saved people the cost of purchasing bookmarks.
CHALLENGE: The process of this design is actually very simple and very suitable for mass production. The biggest difficulty lies in the methods and ideas to solve the problem.
