PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Perfume Package and Branding

INSPIRATION:
Aurore's package depicts the sun rising in the morning waves like quiet dawn. The serene waves and sun show the diverse spectrum yet have their consistency. The sun and the wave is being the base of the Aurore brand concept. With the gradation of the marine color and the blurry yellow color, the package consistently shows the idea of a wavy ocean and the gleaming sun of the dawn.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
LASSE BRILLER TON AURORE (: Let your dawn shine.) Aurore is a luxury perfume for career women with modern tastes. In praise of all women who play various roles in their daily lives, Aurore gives them charismatic and friendly scents. Aurore means dawn in French. Like the dawn has coexistence of depth and light together, Aurore is a scent dedicated to women who lights up the darkness from home, from work, and from everywhere.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
When you receive the package, you can already feel the identity comes from the sea and the sun by its shape and color. The half-circle cap of the carton depicts the sun and the wavy opening part makes the user feel the sea. When the user opens up the carton, the action of opening it resembles the rise of the sun. In the center of the carton, the Aurore bottle shows up its vivid color in the middle of the white bottle, and the inside of the carton cap shows the glowy yellow colors which give the feeling of light of dawn to users.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The projects started in March 2021 in New York and finished in May 2021 in New York.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
From ideation, it requires a lot of sketches, 3D rendering using ProCreate and Cinema 4D. When making a bottle, I used the oil clay to model it and made some edits. Clay model used for the mold of the bottle and the carton is made by hand according to the dieline of it. For the print materials, Illustrator and Photoshop are used to make the graphics. All are printed and cut by hand.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The bottle is made of glass. Cap is yellow transparent glass and the bottle is frosted marine color. The carton size is 120*105*80 inches and the bottle size is 70*58*29 inches.

CHALLENGE:
The challenge of this project was actual clay modeling of the wavy part in the glass bottle. It takes a few weeks to become the ideal feature of the Aurore bottle. By not using a simple mold of the wavy shape but showing the craftmanship in the main part of the bottle, the bottle becomes divine and luxurious.

	NAME: Sooah Lee PROFILE: Sooah Lee is a brand designer who graduated from Pratt Institute Communications Design MFA. Sooah is working at Lippincott as a Visual Communication Designer now and previously she worked at Strong Studio as a freelance designer. With Marc Rosen, she started this perfume project to celebrate all career women in various fields in 2021.
