| DESIGN NAME: Pet hair remover PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hair cleaning INSPIRATION: The design is inspired by the shape of ornamental fish in order to reserve more space for product serialization and second-generation products. The main design work is the user's usage habits and care of the hand muscles, and also pays attention to the aesthetic preferences of the younger generation of pet owners.The design concept is that this product is not only a practical tool, but also an ornament that has the meaning of placing, wearing, and playing. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A product that removes pet hair from clothing and objects. There are three different densities of rubber comb teeth, which match the contours of the product with different curvatures. This form is compatible with a variety of hand gripping and force methods. It is also more like a small fish, fun and cute, and can be placed at home or carried around like a small toy. It is more favored by young people. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When cleaning the hair attached to clothing or furniture, the user only needs a simple 3-step operation process: 1. Holding the pet comb; 2. Scraping off the hair according to the outer contour of the product, the hair will stick to the surface due to static electricity. On the comb teeth; 3. Remove the hair on the comb teeth and put it in the trash can to complete the cleaning. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Pet hair remover project research, conception, design, and prototype selection were completed in the design studio in Shenyang, China, for a period of 3 months. Molding, mass production and processing of final shaped products are done at the factory in Ningbo, China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The product material is made of abs and rubber, processed by injection molding technology, and the assembly structure has been greatly optimized. It is easy to produce and assemble, and the manufacturing cost is reduced. This product has been mass-produced and launched in markets around the world. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 120mm x 105mm x 25mm TAGS: Cleaning,Remover,Con RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Through a large number of product research, there are many products for pet hair sticky cleaning. Some products have a single function and a monotonous and uninteresting form. Users have difficulty removing pet hair from clothing and items, and occasionally experience pain in their hands. In view of the above problems, we think about how to clean the hair quickly and effortlessly, and conform to the user's usage habits, holding methods and strength of use. Therefore, we are working on a pet comb with a simple and reasonable design and easy operation. CHALLENGE: How to make the pet comb to clean the hair effectively and quickly, and in line with the user's usage habits, the holding method and the strength of use are the difficulties of this design. We made a variety of samples through 3D printing technology, and designers and user experience engineers conducted many experiments to obtain the final molded product.
