| DESIGN NAME: Thermos PRIMARY FUNCTION: Thermometry and Sterilization INSPIRATION: During the epidemic period, the thermometer used by the front management personnel in shopping malls and other public places usually only has the function of temperature measurement. It would be nice if temperature measurement could also sterilize, so I came up with this production that combines disinfection and temperature measurement，which would be very useful in common places. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: THERMOS is a product that combines plasma sterilization technology with thermodetector.The disinfection function uses ion sterilization technology, which is characterized by fast and thorough sterilization. In addition, there is a design detail of the product, the previous temperature detector requires inspectors to lower their heads to check the temperature, but this temperature detector temperature mouth and the Angle of the display screen do not need to lower their heads, more ergonomic. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: During the epidemic period, people often need to monitor their body temperature at the entrance of shopping malls and other public places, while THERMOS measures the temperature and lights up the plasma disinfection lamp to sterilize and disinfect the human body. Plasma sterilization technology has the characteristics of fast and thorough sterilization, and will not harm the human body. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2021 in LAFA Industrial Design Studio and finished in December 2021 in National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Industrial Design in LAFA. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This design is shaped by CNC machining technology and metal 3D printing technology, using PC and metal as main materials. There is ultraviolet sterilization and temperature measurement technology used on the back of the thermodetector. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 90mm x Depth 150mm x Height 50mm TAGS: thermometry, sterilization RESEARCH ABSTRACT: COVID-19 pandemic until now still seriously affects people's lives convenience. Temperature detection is the most need in public in order to avoid panic. This design combines ultraviolet sterilization technology. It is totally healthy and clean, not harmful to human body. This design can also bring the sense of security to the people in public places. CHALLENGE: The challenge of the design is the innovative method of this helmet. The technology and idea of this design was found. Still, it was not sure how to integrate each part of this helmet. After a certain number of sketching and discussing the project, finally, the proper selections which achieve the desired effect was found.
