INSPIRATION:
Memory is an indispensable part of humans. The contradiction of memory is that it is very precious, but it will be forgotten as time goes by. My inspiration comes from the last words of my grandmother's life: Don't forget me, which makes me realize that memory could prove a person existed. With the development of society, people sometimes need to slow down, awaken their memory, which is a natural treasure. Through hidden design and diversified wearing ways, I hope this work can make people feel narrative, love, and nature. The work is not only for my grandma, but also to remind people to do not to forget love.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Grandma always looked at me outside the door when I was in kindergarten. The natural texture of the wood was like a frame froze her, which is the outside brooch shows. The brooch could be worn in three ways. The silver fillings were scattered and burned. The emotions were piled up. The inner Brooch can be worn on both sides. It looks like Grandma's elegant cheongsam on one side. The silver part represents: when the soul is gray, reincarnation does not exist, which is nirvana. Gold means rebirth, she lives in my heart. The other side is stacked with silver grains, and deep ups and downs emotions are hidden in it.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in 2019 in China and finished in 2019, and was exhibited in Alliages gallery, Lille, France from 2020 to 2021. Then, it was exhibited in 2021 Beijing International Jewellery Art Exhibition.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Most of my work is narrative, and memory is a trigger for me to make jewelry. In the increasingly fast-paced society, people need a quiet place to collect beautiful things. After my grandmother passed away, I began to think about the role of memory. Through communication and self excavation with various people, I increasingly felt the importance of memory, which will replace a person to continue to live. Therefore, I often looked through the old photos, walked back and forth under the banyan tree, and experienced the emotion with my grandmom. We often don't want our memory to be spied on, so I designed a pull design. The internal brooch is a secret in my mind.

CHALLENGE:
How to make the design more like a trigger, which could recall people's memory？ Every work is a maze, which needs to be explored by people who understand you. Because the theme of "memory" has its sense of mystery, what kind of small mechanism can hide some emotions I don't want to expose, but when people play with it in their hands, it has a multifunctional wearing method, which makes people feel interesting and attractive?
