DESIGN NAME: Mosaics
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table
INSPIRATION: When designing the Mosaics table, we were inspired by intriguing futuristic shapes. The surface of the table seems to float on thin strips of supports, in which red threads pass, creating the aesthetics of cable-stayed structures. Thin-walled metal legs add more expression to the gracefully curved supports in red. We wanted to offer a solution that could add more aesthetic expression wherever our product is presented.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Gracefully bent metal plates, which seem to represent a dance in an endless space, positioning themselves as a mirror to each other, hold a solid porcelain stoneware slab above them, the surface of which itself reflects this space.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When designing the Mosaics table, the focus was on the aesthetic side, which would maintain this convenience while sitting at the table; feeling as if its surface is floating in the air, violating the laws of gravity. If you observe the table from different angles, different impressions are created from all sides
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was made in April 2021.
Duration: 45 days.
Location: Tbilisi, Georgia
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Furniture Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: surface powder coated steel frame, cut using precision equipment such as CNC. Table top made of ceramic board, glued for greater strength on LDF sheet. Red fabric rope.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 2400mm x 120mm x 730mm
TAGS: Table, Furniture, Still, Stone, Furniture design, Product design
RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After the development of the basic concept and 3D modeling, calculations were made for the supporting part of the table, which gave positive results. Based on these results, the product was transferred to production.
CHALLENGE: The most important aspect was the process of fine-tuning design ideas and production details, finding a balance between feasibility, aesthetics, and functionality.
