| DESIGN NAME: Gourd tea tableware PRIMARY FUNCTION: Save space INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this design is mainly from the fast-paced life of today’s society, especially young families, who don’t need too much tableware, often eat greasy food, and like picnics. In this case, a portable, lowvolume It is necessary to have many but enough tableware for drinking tea after a meal. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The innovation of this design mainly lies in the use of space. This product is a combination of tableware and tea set. It can be carried and used at home or outdoors, such as camping or picnic. It consists of three plates, two bowls, a pot and two teacups. The lid and bottom of the gourd are two plates with considerable capacity. There is also a shallow plate in it. Shallow plates can also be used as tea plates. After use, people can combine them into gourd like products. Gourds in China mean good luck and good luck. They can bring me home and only occupy a very small space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The use of this combined tableware is very simple. Its external cover can be turned into a plate by turning, and the bottom is another large capacity plate. The internal flat plate is dual-purpose, which can be used as a dish or a tea plate. In addition, there are two bowls and a set of tea sets inside. People only need to take them out and use them, and put them back in place after use, which can save a lot of home space. When they go camping, this set of tableware will also be very convenient because it takes up very little space PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was launched in Jingdezhen, China in May 2020 and completed in Jingdezhen in September 2021. It will be released in December. |

The background of the design and research is mainly based on the fact that most tableware on the Chinese market are large sets, with a lot of plates, bowls and pots. However, for a large number of young families, especially young people living in crowded houses in China's big cities, the tableware of large sets takes up space and is very expensive, Through questionnaire survey and e-commerce data analysis, we found that a large number of Chinese young people, especially young people in big cities, have a per capita housing area of only about 20 m2, and the price of tableware purchased by Chinese young people is mostly less than 300 yuan. The number of plates and bowls in tableware is very small, and the number of couples or families of two is mainly concentrated in 2-3, Moreover, more and more young people have the habit of drinking tea or coffee. Based on the data we have obtained, we position the design as a simple tableware for a family of two. We need to pay attention to saving space, and drinking tea after dinner is more suitable for young people's health than drinking coffee. Therefore, we design according to these factors and in combination with well-known ceramic manufacturers in China, through many scheme modifications and process improvements, This plan was finally determined. In addition, according to China's consumption habits, we also gave this set of tableware the attribute of gift. The manufacturer believes that this has a better meaning and market prospect. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part is the process. The ceramic material will be deformed after firing at 1300 degrees Celsius. The lid and the bottom are difficult to match.
