OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Socially relevant, Playful, Functional, Interactive, Sustainable › These site-specific are based on installations that express their essence via modular typography. They can be seen as "functional messages. These typographic site-specific, create a sense of place in spaces that do not have an intended public use. The resulting typographic installations are sustainable and invite the viewer to interact with them. The notion of 'Play' has been studied and researched to later be embodied by the places created.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project is developed in 4 weeks in Singapore, at the School of Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Supervisor: Associate Professor Danne Ojeda

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Objectives ›
1. Participants will research the tradition of 3d and 4d typography (and installations), particularly modular structures.
2. Participants will strengthen skills for the development of physical type design strategies whose primary function is related to the notion of 'Play'.
Methods › Literature review, critical and creative thinking, visualization techniques exploration, and virtual exhibition.
Tools › Variable
CHALLENGE: There are diverse challenges that are associated with the different themes explored. This is a collective assignment, and we are presenting here some highlights of a few projects only.
The general challenges are associated with 3D and 4D visualizations. Generally, participants need to hone their skills to offer results in 4 weeks, which is the complete duration of the project.
It is also very challenging to consider the accessibility and usability of the places created for all persons. The spaces shall be inclusive.
