| DESIGN NAME: Simplicity of Life PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: A beautiful 4 stories villa is situated in suburban area in Longtan district, Taoyuan city , Taiwan, where it is famous for tea tree farm and mountain views. Our clients - young parents and two children who love to be embraced by nature and away from the city , so the design approach is to bring colors of nature into the house. The color of sun, tree and sky were selected as three primary colours and reflected on the choice of tiles. The space planning is rather open and simple to maximise the interaction of people in the house. This is a simple interior design style brings people back to the essence of life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The 4 stories villa is surrounded by garden on three sides . The ground floor plan has a well thought out approach that encompasses daily living for one individual or an entire family, whilst allowing for the flexibility to entertain an intimate gathering or transformed for a large soiree. Private bedrooms are on the 2nd floor and above . A thoughtful selection of finishes such as solid timber floor throughout , natural mineral-based paint and hand-craft wood furniture are putting together to bring a eco-friendly home . OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The public area is an open space including the living room, open-plan island kitchen and dining area. The Living room has large windows overlooking the garden. A large backyard is for vegetable garden. A guest room and a children’s bedroom are situated on the 2nd floor .A large master bedroom suite is situated on the 3rd floor , with a glass door opening into a private balcony. A private wood craft studio is situated on the 4th floor to accommodate owner’s hobby. Each bedroom has large windows providing ample nature light. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project started in April and finished in July, 2021 in Longtan District, Taoyuan City , Taiwan. FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The project scope including joinery detailing, carpentry, coordinating electrical and mechanical services for lighting and ventilation outlets, air conditioning, painting, a new kitchen and bathroom appliances installations, furniture selection and soft furnishings throughout. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Interior area is 400 square meters. TAGS: Modern, Simple, Luxurious, Residential Design, Timeless, Minimalist, Nature, Contemporary, Residential Villa , Colorful , Playful,Villa Interior Design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: There were many challenging aspects on both the design and interior construction. The consultant team cooperated successfully with the builders and craftsmen to achieve the aesthetics from the original concept while maintaining practical functionality. CHALLENGE: As it was a roughcast 4 stories villa ,the most challenging aspect of this project was initial space planning and fundamental works. The project scope including joinery detailing, carpentry, coordinating electrical and mechanical services for lighting and ventilation outlets, air conditioning, painting, a new kitchen and bathroom appliances installations, furniture selection and soft furnishings throughout.
