| DESIGN NAME: Story PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table with Splash Proof Screen INSPIRATION: Story is a table that was created to rebuild the space for dialogue that was divided by the pandemic. In order to enjoy conversation and meals in a variety of situations with peace of mind, the design focuses on a simple and beautiful shape that fits in any place, is variable according to the situation, and is easy for anyone to handle. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: For example, in dining and conversation in a restaurant, a story is as essential as a course meal. As you are led to your table, from the appetizers to the after-dinner sweets, the table, the acrylic plate, and the acrylic cylinder will change with you. This is a table that changes according to the story of each individual user. Because of its simple and beautifully shaped parts and knockdown table, it can be used in a variety of places such as restaurants, cafes, offices, and public facilities. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The structure is simple so that anyone can easily handle the table. The acrylic screen can be removed without the use of tools and can be firmly fixed. The acrylic cylinder that holds the screen in place can be used to hold cutlery, flowers, pens, and various other items according to your needs. The legs are small to provide more legroom, but they are stable and can be removed for storage. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Since the stability of the screen is closely related to the accuracy of the acrylic cylinder, I focused on the accuracy of the acrylic. The shape of the legs was also a matter of trial and error in order to obtain stability of the table with compact legs. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Wooden top melamine veneer, steel legs, transparent acrylic Width 600mm, depth 700mm, height 720mm TAGS: table,folding table,screen RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As an interior designer in Tokyo, I have been searching for efficient use of space. This table is a proof that even compact chairs and tables can create a high quality space and peace of mind.
