| DESIGN NAME: Goleta PRIMARY FUNCTION: Home Staircase INSPIRATION: The importance of elegance and functionality drove the idea and developments of this staircase. Located in the center of the home, it provides a fast communication from the second floor to the kitchen, dinning room and main room. The home is a modern architecture that exhibits an array of art and design from around the world. The staircase is fusion of modern minimalism and classic elegance. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The staircase design is a system that incorporates wooden handrail, metal baluster, Spanish ceramic floor and a suspended metal staircase section. The baluster design in the second floor is a response to the clients request for something very open, simple but elegant. Stepping down with style defined the Spanish ceramic selection. The suspended metal staircase following the architectural modern style. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Goleta staircase is design to generate emotions to the user, from going down with style to step up at the end of the day and relax. Although it is dynamic in forms and elements it is perceived as one unit. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: the project lasted 6 month FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The Goleta production utilized: classic metal working for balusters and suspended stair block. The railway was manufactured on solid wood at a local wood shop. The ceramic floor was imported from Spain specifically for the project. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 1.30m X length 4.28 m X height 4.34m TAGS: - RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The client was looking for style and functionality. Most of the research was based on yachts interior design that are based on the above requirements. Also many meetings were arranged to understand and learn the clients test. Once the initial concept was achieved the next step was the 3d digital visualization,budget CHALLENGE: The Goleta staircase is design to generate emotions to the user, from going down with style to step up at the end of the day and relax.
