| DESIGN NAME: Nature Therapy PRIMARY FUNCTION: Costume Design INSPIRATION: Nature is a perfect way to recharge one's soul. Taking inspiration from nature gives a fresh perspective on design. These days, people need a fresh start after the pandemic. We need to save the EARTH, and to preserve a livable climate, greenhouse-gas emissions must be reduced to a net-zero by 2050, so we should change our habits. I brought nature and freshness in my designs to impact my audience's souls and remind them how beautiful nature is. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Nature Therapy is a project about nature and animal rights. A designer can draw inspiration from almost anything, but NATURE has always been a go-to source for creativity. I combined clothes and macrame knotting techniques with flowers, leaves & fruits to discover an artistic "Fashion & Nature" look. There is one EARTH, and we should take care of it. This project aims to encourage people to be more cautious about nature, animals, and the earth. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: I am eager to continue my journey and impact people to pay more attention to nature. I used eye-catching colors and materials like flowers to attract the audience and make them think about how beautiful nature in an image is. People see the earth's beauty every day, but they ignore it due to the routine of their lives. It's my mission to remind them to take a deeper look into greens. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2020 in NJ, US. Then it continued in Iran, Tehran and I am still working on new ideas. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: I combined clothes and macrame knotting techniques and used fresh flowers, leaves & fruits to discover an artistic "Fashion & Nature." Natural cotton macrame cords are used to create entirely eco-friendly costumes made from 100% recycled cotton. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: I created the costumes for an S-size model. TAGS: Veganism, Nature, Nature therapy, Earth, Save the earth, fashion inspiration from nature RESEARCH ABSTRACT: There is considerable evidence that the fashion and textile producers are not giving much attention to sustainable practices during these processes. However, with the growing global interest in sustainability and increased consumer awareness, fashion and textile industries have taken initiatives to offer sustainable solutions in their production lines. The stakeholders take several approaches in fashion production, from fiber production to garment manufacturing to even supply chain management, to fulfill sustainability requirements. Fashion items produced using sustainable practices can contribute to environmental, social, and economic well-being leading to green earth in the future. I started my mission by reviewing the data and findings from relevant “review and research articles” relating to sustainable fashion and textile production in selected databases. CHALLENGE: The most challenging part of this project was the freshness of the materials. I should make every costume right before the photography session or keep the pre-prepared apparel in a cold environment. Every photography session took a long time, and my model should be very patient because I created a part of the artwork on her body. NAME: Parbahani PROFILE: Parvaneh Roozbahani is the ParBahani Fashion/Costume Design Studio founder. The brand's belief is in sustainability and eco-friendly materials. Parvaneh has been designing various pieces of apparel by using natural and sustainable materials for over ten years. She is deeply passionate about her work, including designing, sketching, fashion illustrations, and surface development. She brought versatile creativity to the Parbahani brand. She is always ready to play with color, shapes, and materials for the best output. My main objective is to put the best effort into developing sustainability in the Fashion Industry. |
