INSPIRATION: We are inspired by the easiness of changing batteries in your flashlight - that is not complicated. With this new flywheel its not complicated too - anyone can change their bicycle into something electric
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Normally a DIY kit for making a bicycle electric consist of a controller, a motor, a sensor, a battery and a trotthle. All of this has to be connected in. a certain way and it can take ours to get your electric bicycle to work. In this case where all in integrated in one unit namely the motor it takes only 30 seconds to convert any given bicycle to an electric bicycle. Unmount the existing front wheel mount the Zeitgeist front wheel and off you go. It has never been more easy than now
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This DIY electric bicycle is very easy to operate and to assemble. The assemble time is less than 3 minutes. When you push the pedal it automatically transform into an electric assisted bicycle. On the display you can follow your speed and the autonomy of the battery.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our research is based on insights from end consumers. The end consumers was missing a holistic designed DIY kit in the market. Normally electric bikes are not that beautiful. You will see external battery boxes. External motors and external cables. But in our DIY case all is extremely well integrated in one wheel
CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge was that there was no components available. Because of idea to integrate all items we had to make many of the parts from scratch. For instanse the battery and the display is totally new developments for this project only.
