DESIGN NAME: The Endless Infinite
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential
INSPIRATION: The client works in the shipping fisheries industry; therefore, elements related to the job, such as water waves, sea waves, sprays, and more, are infused into the project. In addition, curves are applied in every corner within the structure to create a balanced and refreshing overall feeling. Meanwhile, the usage of materials between ceiling decorations and streamlined separations has secretly divided each area. At the same time, the concreted geometry elements show the sea-likely movements and continuity of a family positivity and philosophy.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Lines, curve separations, and spool cuttings are used in many ways to bring senses of fluidity and speed into the space. At the same time, the designer combined natural elements, including sunshine, wind, and air, within the elaborately calculated surface dimension to inject a lively nature sense into the private area hallway, giving the user more overall space imagery visually and functionally. Meanwhile, glass and other transparent materials are applied to deliver a clearer and broader overall sense.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As for color mixings and methods, the public area applied a linear way to retouch the ceiling, while the harmonic combination between the dark and light colors separated areas. The floor applied the same method using different materials to deliver the overall section fully. The television wall and the walls behind the living room echo with each other, while elegant Rex is used for decoration; the light characteristics of the material make it durable and not easy to damage whether applied on walls or doors.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in April 2021 in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Wide tiles, Natural-resembled materials, marbles, black mirrors, Lattices, Customized aluminum light, Rex, Tile stones.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The expansive yet narrow and long space is applied with linear retouching. The cravings on the ceiling shaped the image of waves, while black mirrors, lattices, and other elements highlighted the neatness and richness of lines. As for the kitchen island, the designer tore down the original design to remodel the overall space. Toughened glasses are used to separate the wet kitchen and the island and increase indoor brightness; the outside and the inside are now transparent. The original closed-up feeling of the kitchen and the dining room is eliminated, and senses are enlarged and embodied.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The house is equipped with an expansive space; therefore, the designer took advantage of the secret door clearly as a mediator to split the area into public and private. The primary roles of the public space are the living room and the dining sector; the usage of divisions and streamline separations cleverly planned sections by different characteristics and ranges. Given that the case is a pre-owned house, the designer has communicated with the client multiple times to remodel many parts of the structure, achieving more transparent daylighting for the indoor areas than the original space.
CHALLENGE: The space is equipped with an expansive original base. The designer used the hidden secret door by the television wall to separate the public and the private. The spacious living room and kitchen area are outside the door that allows guests and families to dine in, while the site through the door is a hallway that connects each family member bedroom. The hallway has been calculated using physical data precisely that when the window at the end is opened, a natural breeze could follow the curve into the indoors.
