DESIGN NAME:
Iraqi Home Foundation For Creativity

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Multifunctional House

INSPIRATION:
Iraqi Home Foundation For Creativity is a nongovernmental organization that aims to provide shelter, education, emotional support, and rehabilitation to help Iraqi orphan children recover from the trauma of losing their parents. This inspired us to design an entertaining and learning environment that stimulates creativity and provides children with the safety they are deprived of, to let them be productive adults who are successful in life.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The aim of the design is to create an intimate environment that generates a sense of family and integration into society in preparation for opening creative horizons. the design elements have been chosen very carefully in line with the child's psychology and his intellectual system, as every part of the building is in itself an entertaining interactive educational method that addresses the subconscious and conscious of the child and urges him to generate the largest possible amount of creative i

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Each space was designed to be an educational, tool that helps children learn and create in an atmosphere of fun and entertainment. Emphasis was placed on achieving the principles of sustainability and the use of natural methods in ventilating the building, such as windscreens directed at the prevailing winds that circulate the air inside the building. And the use of solar cells to generate electricity.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The design process started in February 2020 in Baghdad, Iraq, and the construction process started in August 2020 and still ongoing until the present time. The structural work has been completed and the finishing works are now underway.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The design is based on grouping the blocks together in a compact way to create spatial and visual communication between different parts of the project so that strengthen the social ties between children and their surroundings.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
building area of the project is 1500 meters squared (3 floors and Penthouse) Site dimensions are 30 m * 50 m Site area is 1500 squared meter

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
children were met and asked about the activities they dream of in their new house, It was noticed that their interest was great in art, such as drawing, sculpture and music, therefore spaces were provided within the project that would help them develop these talents and hobbies. The psychological impact of materials and colors on the child's psyche and behavior was also studied, and thus the choice of natural and flexible materials that provide comfort and safety for children while they are inside the building, in addition to choosing colors that release energies and stimulate learning and creativity.

CHALLENGE:
The most difficult part is designing a project that suits children who have suffered from family deprivation and community rejection. A project that provides them with a healthy environment that helps them build their personalities properly, and that it is a low-cost project since its funding depends entirely on donations, and to meet all customer requirements within a relatively small space
