DESIGN NAME: BikePOD
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ebike
INSPIRATION: Inspired by true market research. Consumers has been asking for a bike with a build in radio or speaker. Now it is here. A build in a Bluetooth radio that is detachable for the user. The motivation is to make a product where the audience for instance can drive to work having the electric motor engaged and listen to their favorite music when they ride. Arrive at work with no sweat because of the support from the electric motor. A luxury ebike for those who want more technology and enjoy.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This electric bike is a totally new category in electric bikes.
Market research has found a need for having audio when driving to work or for leisure. In order to reach the research target it is found that the this specific electric bike needs to be extra ordinary light. The audio system need sto be detachable. The motor must be hidden as much as possible - but yet visible. The bike has to have real racing bike geometry. We realised this concept by using the newest carbon materials available.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The design is developed based on insights collected from 500 end consumers. The endconsulers asked for a radio / Bluetooth system to fit their bikes
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: 12 month from first sketch to final vehicle. Made and developed in Croatia by my creative and engineering team.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Alluminium and Carbon materials are used in order to create this electric bike. We started sketching the bikes and chose the current design out of 50 sketched bikes. After the choise we went into the 3D phase and then finally the prototyping phase if the bike and the pod speaker

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Research in aerodynamics, weight ratio to stiffness of the frames. This is a totally new method in the electric bicycles industry where those parameters mentioned has not been explored before now with the new Pod bicycle product.
CHALLENGE: The most critical challenge was to get the weight down to a record breaking level. The electric bicycle has a cruise bike dna and must therefor be light. But having the added weight of a battery and a motor and the Bluetooth speaker was the most difficult challenge. The way we have solved the challenges is by using untraditional materials for an electric bike such as carbon and kevlar instead of metal and alloy
