| DESIGN NAME: Fika PRIMARY FUNCTION: Furniture Set INSPIRATION: Inspired by the Swedish word "Fika", this furniture set is meant to give you all the comfort that you need during the coffee break, reading a book or just taking time out. In a typically Scandinavian way with some pillows and a blanket the shape of the lounge chair could give you a nice and relaxing nap. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: "Fika" is a furniture set from two parts - a lounge chair and a side table which could also be used as a stool. It can be ordered as a set or separately. The main purpose of the product is to give you a nice and comfortable time during the coffee break at the office or at the afternoon nap with a book. Assembling of this furniture set is quick and easy. No special tools are needed and it could be done by one person. The precision of the manufactured pieces guarantees the perfect fit. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The pieces should be manufactured with precision so the perfect fit to be ensured. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Both products in the set are made of two wooden components and assembling is quick and easy without needing a special equipment. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 525 mm x Depth 1400 mm x Height 700 mm TAGS: Fika, Furniture, Set, Vasil, Velchev, Swedish, Scandinavian, Hygge, Coffee, Break, Design, Stool RESEARCH ABSTRACT: A few connection types have been checked at the beginning of the project and this was the base for starting the development process. Another important point was the FEA analysis in order to ensure the strength of the structure. CHALLENGE: The challenge here was to build something that looks simple as a form, but at the same time interesting. More design, less art. The appearance of the set is related to the Scandinavian 'hygge' style so the name "fika" (which is 'coffee break' in Swedish) and the colors of the main configuration (like the Swedish flag) makes the picture completed.
