| DESIGN NAME: Snapi PRIMARY FUNCTION: At-Home Baby Health Tracker INSPIRATION: Parents always try to understand what the best food for their baby is, and if he or she is healthy. Instead of spending hours There should be a product that uses real health information to help you understand your baby’s health, and you find out exactly what your baby should eat. Snapi is like having a personal dietitian for your baby in your pocket! UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Snapi is a health tracker for babies. It’s a specially designed urine test that fits inside any sized diapers. Parents will be able to use our product to track hydration, Vitamin C, Calcium, Ketone, and pH level and ect. We are developing the computer vision algorithm that will be able read and interpret the results directly in our APP without needing to send anything to the lab. Our APP will also be able to send parents' diet and product recommendations based on the results. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The project started in June 2020 as a first product offering from Snapi Health Technology Inc. Our vision is to give every baby affordable access to personalized nutrition and transparency of health. The product is currently in private beta, and will launch a public beta version in April 2021. We’ve also received $500K of funding. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The biggest challenge for us is how do we design something that works for all size diapers, for both boys and girls. The other challenge is making sure the product is easy to manufacture so we can make this affordable for every baby. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: There are two major components. For the urinalysis inside, we’ve decided to go with the standard manufacturing process by simplifying our product. This way, we will be able to produce it for less than 5 cents per test. The pouch component will be done with native diaper material for 10 cents. The test results will be scanned and interpreted in our APP instantly.
