| DESIGN NAME: Hydria Form PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional bowl and jug set. INSPIRATION: Hydria form derives its inspiration from Greek mythology. The gods, who enjoy eternal life by drinking from Ambrosia, which is described as "Eternal Life", continue to rule over people. Ambrosia, the drink that made the gods such a great power and that they became the masters of time, is served to the gods in special glass containers called Hydria form. Designed with inspiration from history, this work has found a form with a contemporary interpretation. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A heritage for centuries, the dance of fire with glass. Stories dimensioned with breath, traces of cultural heritage, are a light that sheds light on contemporary art and today's design. The “Hydria Form Series” is an example of contemporary glass art and contemporary design as a series that takes its name from the Hydria mythological story with traditional Turkish glass shaping techniques. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This design can be produced in various colors and textures in cooperation with different industry brands. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Hydria Series was first exhibited at Armaggan Art and Design Gallery in Istanbul in 2016. Then he met with the audience at PG Art Gallery. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This work was produced with advanced hot glass blowing and shaping techniques. During production, the colors obtained from colored glasses are used professionally and provide a homogeneous appearance on the form. In addition, the glass balls on the form were glued at a temperature of approximately 1000 ° C using the hot sealing technique. Then the glass was annealed from high temperatures to room temperature and reduced. As a final process, cold working has been applied to their soles. It is made by the artist-designer himself. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Hydria form series average dimensions width: 15cm depth: 15 cm height: 25 cm A series of approximately 5 different sized pieces. Since it is glass material, packaging is very important. A thick and hard styrofoam nest should be created in a hard box and fixed using bubble wrap. TAGS: Hydria Form, Hot Glass, Contemporary Art, Functional Glass, Glass Blowing, Glass Design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Hydria Series is the first professionally usable set of artworks designed and produced by the artist for a special exhibition collection. Different sources have been researched on Greek mythology, which is the starting point of the study. Later, with the help of these resources, sketches were made by going to form research and the first hot glass blowing and shaping trials of production started in 2016. CHALLENGE: The Hydria Form Series is inspired by the ceramic large water containers used in Ancient Greece.The most difficult technical process in the emergence of this design was to produce the form, which was ceramic in ancient Greek times and which was blended with a contemporary interpretation and made new sketches, using glass material.
