| DESIGN NAME: N Mall PRIMARY FUNCTION: Education and Relaxation Mall INSPIRATION: Our concepts inspired from “Surnames”. By using Shanghaiese unique local slang, familiar words appear entirely in the mall. New opened up long staircase linked from 1-3 floor with seating provides the street feeling of an old town. Elderly and families enjoy to take a rest on the steps after school or work , to exchange their daily trifles with a tradional snacks and tea. Within limited budget, words have been regrouping. Using your imagination, you will find your name permeating in the air. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: N Mall located at an old town Qingpu. A low population city with an old streets, school, and ancient historical buildings. N stands for Neighborhood, to convert an old traditional 3 storeys building into an educational, entertainment and relaxation place is our mission. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Due to the time instant, we send our interior desginer stationed at the site during the consturction period. To solve and make sure the contractor totally understand the design and drawings. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2020 in Qingpu Shanghai and finished in February 2021 FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Aluminium panel with graphic print, concelaed structure provided a neat and easy handling construction works. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: Neighborhood feeling RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Qungpu is an old town located 50 miles away from the city center, Most of the citizens are elderly retired people. In order to understand more about Qingpu people, we walked through the old town, take pictures for all interesting scenes such as old stoned made staircase, small paths, natural stone finishes and, the most interesting thing is, the neighborhood feeling is very strong among the citizens. CHALLENGE: To create a friednly mall with not too much details, easy understanding, warmfully and user friendly is our mission.
