PRIMARY FUNCTION: Intelligent Underwear
INSPIRATION: The main methods used for examination in the hospital include breast ultrasound, breast molybdenum target X-ray, infrared ray, magnetic resonance imaging, and PET/CT. Given that these methods require patients to go to the hospital for examination, there exist limitations. Finding a groundbreaking timely and early detection solution that is non-invasive, non-radioactive and non-oppressive is particularly important, especially for the screening of dense breast tissue.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: By integrating biomedical technology, intelligent wearable technology and ergonomics, this underwear enables women to have an effective way of daily breast health monitoring and enhance their awareness of breast self-examination. Experiments show that the system can achieve a detection accuracy of 85% and a sensitivity of more than 95%. Besides, the dismountable micro temperature and humidity sensor can be shared with the family, reducing the family's financial burden.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Featuring simple and comfortable wearing, the device allows rapid, painless and accurate breast monitoring. The monitoring data analysis report is visualized on the App, and users can know about their breast health anytime and anywhere, thus relieving the psychological pressure of going to medical institutions for examination. The perfect combination of underwear and intelligent device enables availability during the day and night, without affecting daily study, work and life.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The product was launched in China in April 2020.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Based on the molecular mechanism controlling the circadian rhythm, the accuracy and sensitivity of the data analysis report are enhanced to over 85% and 95% respectively by using micro temperature and humidity sensors and advanced algorithms. The underwear is integrally formed, made of nylon, polyester and spandex blended fabric, making it more comfortable to wear.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The 2017 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, the molecular mechanism controlling the circadian rhythms, proves that various physiological activities of the human body present circadian rhythms. Breast cancer is characterized by high metabolism, independence and out of control. The skin surface temperature of those suffering from breast cancer is higher than that of healthy ones, accompanied by circadian temperature changes. The humidity of the body surface also changes to a certain extent.
CHALLENGE: The device can dynamically track the health changes of the breast, quantify the "diagnostic model", and form a large cloud diagnosis database to continuously optimize the interaction of the product. Besides, it should be noted in designing that the position for placing the sensor of breast health bra is of great importance. In the meantime, it is necessary to ensure the stability of the flexible circuit position and reduce the foreign body sensation of non-textile materials worn on the body.
