Cosmic Stag

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Necklace and Earrings

INSPIRATION:
Inspired by the Carpathian Red Stag and Carpathian Mountains. It is a representation of freedom and wildness converted into a piece of art.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Inspired by nature, life and emotions, influenced by geometric forms and patterns, the earrings capture the Stag without the antlers (they fall off once a year), whilst the necklace represents the stag with fully grown antlers. The acrylic geometric elements are built in such a way as to give the design a 3D, cosmic dimension with a natural flow.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Sophisticated and elegant, cosmic stag pieces are lightweight and comfortable. They make the perfect set to stand out on special occasions. The earrings can be worn safely even by those with sensitive ears as the studs are made of hypoallergenic titanium.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in June 2020 in Sydney and finished in September 2020.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Sketched by hand, designed in Adobe Illustrator, Cosmic Stag necklace and earrings are made through a laser cutting process from acrylic based laminate with an authentic metallic finish, purposely engineered to deliver high detailed engraving. The base of the necklace and earrings are made of scrap leather and all the elements are assembled by hand.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Packaging is part of the experience. It is an extension of our brand and product's identity.The matte black luxurious cardboard box with the gold and silver laser cut logo on the outside lid is delicate and elegant, also made through the laser cutting process and assembled by hand. Packaging dimensions: L 234mm x W 190mm x H 12.8mm

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
When I started this project I always had in mind the Carpathian Mountains and the red stag in particular as it reminds me of childhood hikes when I was spotting them in the forest or on the peaks. The abstract triangle elements represent the red stag's antlers and the mountain peaks transposed into a unique design, combined with an unconventional choice of materials.

CHALLENGE:
One of the challenges was to transform the vision into a modern yet functional and comfortable design with unconventional materials to still look glamorous. The technical challenge was to to assemble and stick every piece of acrylic on leather.
