DESIGN NAME:
Mutualism in Lights

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Residence

INSPIRATION:
The designer has used simple and elegant color matching, spacious space scale, smooth flow, and rich storage functions to integrate Japanese-style home elements. The extension of natural materials and window views has created a modern and comfortable home style for the two-story space. The wide, open public and the private areas look warm due to the natural texture of the wood and the sunlight outside the window. The open dining room and kitchen enhance the social function of the house.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
In the two-storey house, the designer has cleverly used the sophisticated design method to extend, interlace and merge the vision, thereby improving the defects of the narrow and long structure and bringing an open and smooth spatial scale. The spacious living room space, under the harmonious combination of marble, imported polished tiles and natural oak, showing an elegant and unrestrained space.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The design team was able to effectively use each space in a completely customized way and accurately plan the appropriate space proportion. Facing the long and narrow base structure, thas expanded the public area in the open kitchen space and connected the dining table through the kitchen island to increase the fluency of the occupants, combining with regional lighting equipment, perfect storage function configuration, and the use of hidden doors which can effectively unify the spatial order.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project finished in May 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The spacious living room space, in harmony with the natural combination of marble, imported polished tiles, and steel brushed oak, showing an elegant and comfortable space. The kitchen island and the dining table are specially planned to provide a sense of hospitality. The W-shaped collage method of rock mining on the staircase wall creates a visual sense of the extension of the upper and lower space floors. The overall design, due to the large French windows and the opening windows.

CHALLENGE:
In addition to the use of mature thinking logic to build the beam as a hidden space division, the designer has also used a simple construction method to cover the pipeline and air conditioning on the ceiling shape, trying to retain the original height of the house and effectively use the extension effect creating a comfortable home environment. The designer also needs to constantly communicate with the client and modify the design, so as to plan an ideal space that truly meets his living needs.
