PRIMARY FUNCTION: Filiation Optimization Software
INSPIRATION: Inspiration came after thinking about how the world will adapt to the new norm. An important aspect of daily life is work, in which changes are already visible. Countries who integrate technology-based solutions into their fight against virus show success. In Turkey, where Corowarner originated, although governmental apps collect data, monitoring and implementation of precautions are insufficient. After brainstorming sessions, tracking at micro-levels was determined to be improving filiation processes.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: CoroWarner is a mobile app and a platform-based system which aims at helping companies adjust to the conditions predetermined by Covid-19 and improve their filiation processes. Sudden spread of virus affects production efficiency, while hybrid work models and health compensations demand extra costs. Employees interact numerously in a day, preparing grounds for the spread of virus. Corowarner is a tracking tool for interactions and Covid symptoms so that companies can take precautionary actions.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each employee is given a unique identification number for registration. Later, Corowarner collects information on close interactions and determines the critical ones that may cause the spread. Also, the app tracks employees' symptoms daily with the Symptom Analysis form. Through gamification, each employee is given a daily score, intending to increase motivation on precautions. The executives have access to anonymous data, so when an employee is diagnosed, the company can take precautionary action.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in March 2020 in Ankara and finished in July 2020 in Ankara.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Corowarner is entirely based on software, which is an important value proposition. Data is collected and analyzed with BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) while compromising the minimum amount of battery. By interpreting the intersections of Bluetooth waves among different phones, it is possible to record all interactions for further actions.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This product is designed responsive to all mobile screen sizes. Uses BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) which is different from typical bluetooth technology in terms of energy usage. This allowed product to be used with minimum concern in terms of battery usage.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The main research objective was to understand the kind of adaptations carried out in offices and how employees react to them. The design team aimed to provide a smooth user experience for employees from different socio-economical backgrounds. The research revealed that companies were eager to integrate innovative solutions to their filiation processes and that employees felt more secure with more humain precautions, like utilizing gamification.
CHALLENGE: One challenge was the broad range of users, from different socio-economical backgrounds. A universal design was aimed where all users felt confident. This motivation had reflections on many decisions ranging from gamification to content of visuals. Another challenge was remote user research, which is a new field in design. Online tools reduce the accessibility of low-income factory workers, a significant user group for the Corowarner design team.
