PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Sanitizer Bottle
INSPIRATION:
I am inspired by the doctors who are working very hard for the society day and night in this pandemic, so even I wanted to contribute something to society. I have worked only once in my design career till now to design something for the society or to design a product which creates a social impact. War on virus came up as a great opportunity for me to do design something which not only solves a problem but also helps to lessen the spread of COVID-19. People in this pandemic are traveling to different places for work
for example Hospitals, Government offices, Grocery stores, etc.
Traveling by different means of transport metro, train, buses, etc.
and touching different surfaces. They are using hands sanitizer to sanitize their hands and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. What people are not noticing is that they are keeping the sanitizer bottle in their pockets, purse, bags, etc. and when they reach out to use it they are touching the bottle and the place where they have kept the sanitizer bottle with their hands, which might be contaminated by the virus and it will contaminate their belongings as well thus spreading the virus. in these kinds of situations, the use of conventional sanitizer the bottle will fail to solve the purpose.To come with a solution that will keep people safe and will prevent the spread of coronavirus. I have tried my best to come up with a product that helps to sanitize hands without any having any physical contact with the sanitizer bottle. When I use to exercise and lift dumbells the movement and flexing of hand came to my mind.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
A sanitizer bottle that helps you to use sanitizer without touching the bottle or the dispenser with your palms. The user will be wearing it on the upper armand it will spray sanitizer when the user flexes their arm.No need to touch the bottle with your hand (palm) to sanitize your hand. It is a very simple design and can be easily manufactured and implemented.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
A sanitizer bottle which the user will be wearing on the upperarm which is easy to carry and much safe and efficient as comapred to other sanitizer bottles. It will spray sanitizer when the user flexes their arm. No need to touch the bottle with your hand (palm) to
sanitize your hand.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
I have worked on this project for around 2 months simultaneously on my other submissions as well. I worked on it from my home due to lockdown.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
It is a very simple product with no technology invloved. The material will be LDPE/HDPE cloudy plastic.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
20mm x 50mm x 80mm
can be made smaller to get a more snug fit. This dimension of the bottle can hold upto 90ml of sanitizer.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
I followed the design process which includes research as well. The tools I used for my user research were a questionnaire, a telephonic interview from teachers, and people who go to their office and asked them how do they sanitize their hands. I also did a task analysis as well of a user traveling in metros and sanitizing the hands which gave me a lot of insights and secondary research.
CHALLENGE:
The hardest part of this design was how can I design a sanitizer bottle which can be carried easily, is always with the user, and the user can use it whenever they want to but without touching it with their hands. Then prototyping it making a mock-up or POC (proof of concept) at home with no resources available. But it said where there is a will there is a way and I finally made my way.
