DESIGN NAME: Save Life
PRIMARY FUNCTION: App
INSPIRATION: Quarantine situation and the necessity of minimizing the number of times that we leave the house during Corona pandemic have inspired us to design this product
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This design is an application which connects to a small residential projector. Based on the approach of sensorial design and its effect on the human behavior, we strived to depict the necessity of staying at home and its direct relationship with the health in terms of nature and natural forms.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We have inserted a sensor that is sensitive to the motion. When an individual passes from the projector, this sensor diagnoses the movement and one leaf falls down from the tree. By the time the person goes out, the application is activated and alerts the person each hour of how long he or she has been outdoor. Moreover, for improving user satisfaction, flower and grass can be chosen as the theme.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in June 2020 in Tehran and finished in July 2020.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The sensitive design has been designed based on this approach. We tried to improve the consumer’s positive attitude towards the product by means of studying and researching in the field of sensitive design and Donald Norman’s book which contributes to higher product performance, and consequently feel the idea of staying at home and the danger of leaving the house.
CHALLENGE: One of our challenges was to design a sign of a nature that delivers the meaning of care. Tree, rose flower, and the green grasses filled with flowers may die out if enough attention is not applied. The human beings may also hurt themselves if they don’t pay attention to their own health in the global pandemic period.
